FB rebrand

 The Facebook rebrand is done, so now it's just for author things and book promo. The main header has the word "re-enactor" removed, and I've been outwardly very positive about the changeover but as we all know, social media is a construct, and not always an honest one. 

I'm still very sad, and some of the comments by people who clearly didn't read the posts are low-key infuriating. One helpfully suggested I might feel better after I "get over my writer's block and start writing again" which is a huge wtf since the nextctwo quote books are ready to print right now and the next real book is 3/4 done. Another said I shouldn't take my website down because people use it, even if I'm not (like I don't pay for it) and still others pushed for a Patreon, even after I made it abundantly clear that I do not wish to monetise my social media. 

I have books and merch. They are monetised. You can but them AND get a physical thing in return. Besides, I'm not interested. If I'm not interested enough to keep my website medieval woman themed, I sure as hell aren't interested enough to run a Patreon. 

It's emotionally exhausting. 

Don't they get it? I have to do the book stuff for a bit longer because I am financially tied to it, but the 25 year hyperfixation has finished. I don't want to do it anymore.

So sorry to hear about the end of an era for you. I agree it's bit unfair of others to tell you what you should or shouldn't keep. I hope you find some time and space to pursue the things that are still bringing you joy *hugs*
