sister_raphaelI really have had the busiest day today, although it's been mostly reading and taking notes. And making more icons since I'm now paid on both accounts now.
The second book is really coming along well, and I'm starting to compile the images. I was thinking of this as a bit of a sacrificial lamb; a book that caters to the kind of books that the publisher usually likes that I won't be too super upset about if they want to mess with the format and blurbs etc.
I actually think it's going to be quite nice, now that it's at the compiling stage. Hopefully by Wednesday I will have the required number of sample pages done to submit, although the response from staff on the pitch of the idea was very enthusiastic. More information to follow, once I've got the go ahead, but I'm feeling good about it. I'm hoping they like the title also.
If they don't like the idea, I'll take it elsewhere, but it sounds like it's Very Their Thing. As I've said in a previous post, the book after this returns to factual stuff about medieval women and ties in to the new bath and beauty display and talk.
