Tablecloth upgrades
13 June 2026 09:22 pm Last year at our big event, our dinner table had loovely striped tablecloths which overlapped because I folded them acrossways to fit the table and have the stripes run across the table, rather than along it. Naturally, I planned to cut and resew them (6 halves, making 3 loooong ones in the end) after the event.
Instead they were laundered then put aside. Since I do need them in a few weeks, I got them all out, cut them to size and unpicked side seams which were to become joining seams. In a small win, they had selvedges, so all it will take is a single seam!
The long sides need proper hemming, and since there were three cloths to do, the seams were quite long. Almost 2 metres, I'd guess. I did get them all pinned, so they're ready to sew now.
Maybe tomorrow?
