Gilbert Meyer brooch.
15 January 2026 10:03 amOne of the absolute best things is when a like-minded individual shared things which you are keenly interested in! A gentleman who found my artifact collection online contacted me to share some of his wonderful find with me and I couldn't be more thrilled!

This brooch was found in the 19th century during the excavation of an Alsatian castle. It was made in Nuremberg in the mid-15th century and evokes courtly love in the medieval period with its inscription "LIEBI" (German for "DEAR").
I am very grateful that the owner has granted me permission to share it, provided I credit the source as "Gilbert Charles Meyer Collection."
