methods of fastening medieval cloak brooches

Now I've decided to use the blue wool instead of the green wool, there's the question of the mantle brooches and which method of securing the mantle I should, or would like, to use. Both styles are historically correct, with numerous examples for each one. The colours look rather nice on both as well, although I'm leaning towards the B option.

A. Silk woven band with hooks which clip on under the brooches themselves.

B. Wool tablet woven band which passes through the brooches at the back and tie at the front forming a decorative triangle.

After much consideration, I am leaning towards the green woollen tablet woven band. I had planned to use it for a belt, but the advantage of this style is that the mantle can be drawn closed and opened further to sit wider on the shoulders, which is something we see in manuscripts on fine ladies.
