Whilst I have had a lot of fun with the Wise Men Memes, I was a little mindful that not everyone feels that religion should be used for memes, and I am legitimately surprised that I didn't have a mob of angry Christians commenting on this one.

1470, Jean de Wavrin, Flanders. Walters Art Gallery Manuscript W267, folio 65r, for those of you playing at home.

I'm a Quaker (with a 17th century historian you might have known) and it doesn't make me angry. :o)

Not a good Christian here, obviously. I immediately started looking for the fabric, then trying to figure out where it was hidden. Took me a while to realize the animals were eating down to where it was. Clearly, I thought there was too much additional swag (those fancy clothes, the crowns, the gold, frankincense and myrrh in precious containers!) to worry about whatever Mary might have hidden.
