This is the book I was talking about in an earlier post, written by a lovely lady, Mervi Pasanen from Swan River Crafts who has made some beautiful silk woven bands which I've used for medieval belts. It's still on my to do list, but her instructions seem very clear and easy to follow, so I'm hopeful.

I'm not a knitter or crocheter, but perhaps I might do better at this! My goal is a hat. Then, maybe, socks!

Is this a new project for you? I have that book somewhere in my textile books collection, but sadly haven’t used it. I really enjoy naalbinding, having taught myself from the brief description in Margarethe Hald’s Danish Textiles from Ancient Bogs and Burials over 30 years ago. Sadly, I never hard at learning any other stitches beyond Coppergate. I can do a few, but can’t retain them beyond the project I’m using them for at the time.
