30 January 2025 10:22 pmI'm officially staying on Pixelfed.
Even if the amount of reenactment I've found is very, very low (but it's early days) the quality of their archaeology postings is very high from places I've not seen elsewhere is amazing. Some nice science. Breathtaking photography. Even the official pixelfed memes page is stuff I haven't seen again and again already. And no ads. Just stuff I actually want to see.
My own posts are also reaching completely new audiences, even if they are a modest amount, they are new. Small crowds but quality. I'll probably do Bluesky flashes when it happens soon, but I'm definitely staying on Pixelfed. I feel there is a whole new audience to introduce to our wonderful world of reenactment and 14th century history.
