So the next project wool has arrived and it's just so much prettier than I could have imagined!!!

This will be a cloak/mantle and I've placed the cloak brooches on so you can see the effect. I woven band runs between the two. The fabric was much thinner than I was anticipating, and it could easily be made into medieval clothing, but the colour is magnificent. It will be nice an easy to sew, thank goodness. I won't be starting it for a week or two as I need to do some other projects as well which are needed first, but who knows if I will get carried away and just do it!

The previous cloak I was making is easily twice as thick, but the cloak clasps really didn't look that good on the tan.



I think you'll agree that the blue really works for them!

That is going to look gorgeous! The clasps look wonderful against the rich blue.

Absolutely! My current regular cloak is green, and my new not finished, thicker one is tan but the brooches just don't look as amazing on it. The blue works!!

It's not quite a blue as the photo suggests.

Sometimes with something so special you need to wait for the right fabric to come along.
