It's coming along quite nicely now. I have buttonholes to add, buttons themselves and the liripipe tail, but the inside seams are stitched down and it's partially hemmed.
In the early stages, it was just "hood" or sometimes as the tail (liripipe) became longer it was known as "liripipe," referring the the entire hood with tail, not just the tail. As time progressed (or in France and Europe where it was already known by chaperon or capuchon) England also adopted that name, and the padded roll was added where it became a hat in its own right, but still retained that name.
