Faux Ivory Casket Glow Up

After the success of the faux ivory mirror case, I decided it was time to tackle the casket as well. Armed with paintbrush and Matisse Ghost Gum paint, I have started the paintwork. The casket itself is a reproduction and is Pyrenees stone and resin with wood finish.
This statue is hand made and hand painted by the nuns of the Atelier d'Art de Bethléem, in France. It originally had a aged patina, which is trendy but not actually correct for an item which was new at the time of manufacture.
This one is a bit trickier, because the casket itself has carving that is less crisp than the mirror, so painting over it is tricky not to hide to much of the details. I've lost a little, but over all the look of the casket is greatly improved.
All the remains now, is to paint the fake ironwork bands black and then over-paint to tone it down and seal it with a clear sealer to prevent scratches. All in all, I'm also pretty pleased with how this one is coming along too!
